Two weeks of intensive musical growth
Founded in June 2023, the Bemidji Summer String Institute is a two-week intensive program designed to provide transformative summer music education for string players of all ages. Held annually beginning the Monday following the end of the public school year, the Institute immerses students in chamber music, technique, and performance preparation through a combination of lessons, rehearsals, and classes.
The program includes 10 days of musical activities (Monday–Friday each week, with the weekend off), culminating in a Capstone Recital on the final Friday. A highlight of the first week is a Friday pizza party, fostering community and friendship among participants and faculty.
Location: Classes, performances, and instruction take place at Bemidji State University, Monday–Friday from 9am–5pm for two weeks in June.
